The Grand Theft Auto
franchise has always been the definition of massive open world games. I spent
most of childhood playing Grand Theft Auto Vice City and I am sure most of you
did too. Rockstar has never backed off from its promise to deliver the best
games every once in a while. GTA 5, being the latest addition to the franchise,
has been out and around for almost a year now and it’s still ruling the entire
gaming market.
Although, I would want nothing more than playing GTA 5 all day
long on my PC, but I just can’t help but wonder like the rest of you, “why is
GTA 6 taking so long?”
GTA 5 was released all the way back in 2013 and it’s been 8 years
of waiting for the new GTA title. It’s not like Rockstar has been sitting idle
since, as Red Dead Redemption 2 was a masterpiece released shortly after. But
let’s face it, one of reasons why GTA 6 is taking so long is due to the massive
popularity and ever growing player-base of GTA Online. Rockstar has been more
pro-active in introducing new features like Heists that you can pull off with a
random team or
new vehicles that you can buy.
GTA 5 Online Is still selling Like Hotcakes. It's fantastic,
because it doesn't just make money from the initial purchase; there's even the
micro transaction in GTA Online, and the player base in GTA 5 and GTA Online is
insane. It has one of the largest player bases in gaming history, and in all of
gaming history. Right now, a seven-year-old game is competing with Fortnite and
PUBG in terms of player base, and that, in my opinion, is not a good thing.
And look, we all know GTA 6 is coming,
it's an inevitability. Can you really believe they won't make GTA 6? Really, if
they wanted to, they could all sit back and reap the benefits of GTA 5 without
having to worry about anything and it looks like they are but one thing that
makes me want to give them the time they need is what happened to Cyberpunk
2077. I can wait a few more months, maybe even a couple more years if I have
to, but one thing I can’t do is see something similar happen to GTA 6, which
would be a total disaster for every gamer out there. So, yeah GTA 6 is coming,
slowly but surely, miracles take time my friend!
