NETGEAR EXTENDER FOR MY OFFICE ROOM

Mywifiext Setup

In my office room, there are many dead spots where the internet just does not connect. With time this started causing a lot of trouble and I was in search of an extender that would help me solve my problem. That’s when I came across the Netgear wireless extender. Right now, I can use an internet connection not only inside my house but also in the patio and the basement. A wireless connection is required for an Ethernet connection to any device or multiple devices that do not have Wi-Fi, which could be either within or outside of the main coverage area. There is one main wireless connection in my office room and the main router could not send a signal to every part of the room. Thus I invested in the netgear extender and I can assure you now that it works excellent.

SETTING UP THE NETGEAR EXTENDER –

The NetGear extender setup took a while as I had to follow a few steps.

  • Before starting I had to plug in the extender and the power LED lights up.
  • Then I had to connect my computer to the extender’s Wi-Fi network. The extender's default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) is “NETGEAR_EXT”.
  • The password of the extender network is either “password” by default, or it has got no password.
  • Next on my computer I switched on the web browser and typed mywifiext.net
  • The NEW EXTENDER SETUP page appears.
  • Over there I clicked on “NEW EXTENDER SETUP”.
  • Next, I had to set my login credentials and select the two security questions.
  • Clicking on “next” and then “continue”, the extender started searching for any local Wi-Fi network.
  • Then I had to select the radio buttons for my network's 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi Network Names.
  • Then I had to enter the password of the Wi-Fi network and then click on “Next”.
  • Then I had to select SSIDs and passwords for my extender. By default, the extender uses the name of your existing network with _2GEXT added to the end for the 2.4GHz band and _5GEXT for the 5GHz band. By default, the password for each band is the same as that of the existing network.
  • After clicking on “Next” I had to wait for about a minute or two for the extender to arrange the settings.
  • You need to take note of the password and the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) that will be shown on the screen.
  • On a device that you plan to connect to the extender network, go to the Wi-Fi settings, and connect to the extender's new network.
  • Then go back to your web browser, select the checkbox at the bottom of the page, and tap “CONTINUE”.
  • And then one is done with setting up their extender.

TROUBLESHOOTING ISSUES –

There are many common reasons why someone might face troubleshooting while setting up their extender such as, router and extender not hooking up together, extender lights not lighting up, the interface of the web of the extender not working or it may even be that you are not able to configure your extender to the interface, and much more. When the web-based interface of the extender does not work properly, then you would have to go for mywifiext.local troubleshooting because that is where the problem lies. If you won't be able to login properly into this web UI it will give you a problem accessing your setup page, so make sure that this website works when you are setting up the extender.

Mywifiext.local is a web address that is used to open the settings of mywifiext. When one tries to access the website http://www.mywifiext.net to set up their wireless extender, they can receive an error message while trying to connect to the site. This can occur because http://www.mywifiext.net is not a regular Internet website but a local web address used to open the genie or Smart Wizard of a NETGEAR wireless range extender. You need to connect your computer by Ethernet either physically or wirelessly to your netgear range extender to access this web address. One also has to make sure that they have entered the web address in the right way because spelling mistakes will also lead to such issues.

If everything is checked, yet you are not able to access mywifiext.local web address, then you must get in touch with experts for a quick and reliable solution.
